Bio

Maxwell was born and raised in South East London, where he is now based after some years of travelling around. He has a BA degree in Photography from the London College of Communication. Working predominantly with photography, his work digresses on everyday life and relationships between people, place, and objects, investigating and conceptualising these quotidian subjects.

In 2009 he exhibited at The Photographers’ Gallery, London for Fresh Faced & Wild Eyed. The following year he published his first book, See You Soon. He was also a winner of the Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward Award for his work Stop Making Sense which was exhibited in Toronto and London.

Maxwell took a hiatus from photography between 2012-2019 to concentrate on his publishing ventures with Bemojake but is now working with photography again.
